Dorothy Lee Gooch's Obituary
Dorothy Lee Gooch was born May 26, 1929, in Corsicana, Texas, moved to Tularosa, New Mexico in 1929, graduated Tularosa High School, 1947. She worked in Alamogordo, and in 1947 she met Bill and they were united in marriage in 1948. They moved to Oakland California in 1948 and begin managing an apartment complex. They were blessed with their first daughter in 1950. In 1955 they moved into their first home in Hayward, California. In 1956, they were blessed with a second daughter, and a son in 1958, and another daughter in 1959.The family enjoyed traveling, to New Mexico, loading up the car with four kids, and a clothes locker, filled with children’s clothing. Dorothy was an avid gardener. She grew tomatoes, and green beans and always shared with her neighbors. She harvested apricots and apples and cared for her landscaping. After being widowed in 1987, she took a computer course, and traveled throughout the State with the Senior Citizens, painting ceramics, and attending line dancing classes regularly for about 20 years. She attended the local Community Christian Church where she enjoyed fellowship and potlucks. She continued to travel to New Mexico to visit family, and while there she spent time with her 93 year old mother, and did house painting while there. She continued to have adventure throughout her life. She and her sisters took a cruise to Panama, and then she later traveled to Wichita, Kansas to celebrate a sister’s 50th wedding anniversary. Dorothy was a fantastic cook, but she really enjoyed going out to eat very much.. Dorothy was a very private person, who loved her family very much, and wished the best for all of them.As she departs this life she has now gone to join her father and mother, Ruben and Myrtle Crane, sister, Vi Holmes, brothers, Leon and Paul Crane. She leaves to cherish her memory three sisters, Thelma Bond, Betty Kopecky, Joan Montgomery, one brother, Curtis Crane; four children Sharon Suzanne Cohen, Margaret Elaine Coscia, Randal Verl Gooch, and Karen Lynn Gooch. Her legacy will forever continue through the lives of 11 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. May Peace and Love be with her forever
