Dorothy Edra Vanden Bos' Obituary
Dorothy Edra Vanden Bos passed away on December 17, 2020 at the Masonic Home of California, Union City, California due to complication from the Covid-19 virus.
Dorothy was born on January 4, 1920 in Rice Lake Wisconsin to Roy H. Frasier and Jessie L (France) Frasier, where she grew up with six brothers and sisters. Later she moved to Long Beach, California where she married John H. Vanden Bos on December 14, 1943. While living in Long Beach, daughter Janet K. Vanden Bos and son David J. Vanden Bos were born. Later the family moved to San Leandro, California where they lived for 60 years before moving to Brentwood, California.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband John and daughter Janet.
During her lifetime she was an active member of the Eastern Star where she eventually became Worthy Matron of the San Lorenzo Chapter. She enjoyed family time together along with her favorite hobbies of sewing and knitting.
She was survived by her son and daughter-in-law David and Teri Vanden Bos, grandson and daughter-in-law Brain and Alyssa Vanden Bos, and their son, great grandson Jack, grandson Kevin Vanden Bos, four step daughters-in-law and five great grandchildren.
Due to the current pandemic the memorial service will be held at the Chapel of the Chimes at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the Vanden Bos family has requested that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
