Don C. McAlister 82, of San Leandro passed away on Tuesday September 25, 2001 in San Leandro. A former resident of Hayward for forty years. Born November 23, 1918 in Oletha, Kansas. Dearly beloved husband of Faye W. McAlister of San Leandro for 55 years. Loving father of Carolyn Darcey of Castro Valley, Don C. McAlister Jr. of Livermore, Gary McAlister of San Lorenzo. Dear brother of Mary Rupp of Son City West, Arizona and Bob McAlister of Arcadia, California. Devoted grandfather of Allison Ching of Hayward. Don was a WWII Vetran and a member of the 6th Armored Division. He was a Coin Collector and past president of the Fremont Coin Club and a Silver Star Award Bridge Player. He worked for Continental Food Service for 42 years.Visitation will be Thursday September 27th from 5:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. at Chapel of the Chimes. Friends are invited to attend a Funeral service Friday September 28th at 10:30 A.M. in the Mission Chapel at Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward. “Service Of Marked Distinction”
