Dominador Pambid's Obituary
Dominador “Dom” Pambid November 5, 1919 – July 14, 2008 Mr. Dominador Pambid, known as “Dom” to his many friends, was the loving husband of Tereza Pambid for 64 years. He is survived by his two daughters, Virgilia “Lily” (George) Viterbo, Ederlina “Erlyn” (Jerrold)Sugarman, and one son, Orlando “Orly” (Denise) Pambid. He was the caring grandfather to seven grandchildren: Mia (Gary) Duran, Nina (Edwin) Fong, Brendon (Suzanne) Pambid, Kristopher Pambid, Jeremiah (Lisa) Sugarman, Regina Belen, Jasmine Pambid and four great grandchildren: Jacob Duran, Tatum Duran, Aaron Duran, Kai Pambid. Dom was born an only child and raised in the Philippines and moved to the United States in 1980. He had been an active member of the Mormon LDS Church since 1965 and had worked as the church’s building custodian for fifteen years. He and Tereza had later sealed theirmarriage in the Oakland Mormon Temple. Upon his arrival to the U.S.,Dom continued working in various building maintenance positions in Hayward, CA for residential complexes including the Glen Eden Apartments and later the Josephine Lum Lodge where he and Tereza spent their golden years. Dom was elected President of the Josephine Lum Lodge Senior Citizen Community Organization shortly before succumbing to health ailments. Dom was a caring father who brought up his children to be hardworking with a high sense of self-worth. A spirited and dynamic individual yet with concern always more for others than himself, Dom was always serving others, eager to lend a helping hand to those in need. He was known by his friends and family as an entertainer with his love for singing and avid storytelling and he naturally befriended everyone from all walks of life. Dom’s family sends many thanks to those who had provided hospice and medical care to Dom during the past several years at the following healthcare institutions: St. Rose Hospital, Washington Hospital, Vintage Gardens Nursing Home, Magnolia Gardens Convalescent Home and Northridge Medical Center. Family and friends are invited to CHAPEL OF THE CHIMES MEMORIAL PARK AND FUNERAL HOME, 32992 Mission Blvd, Hayward, CA for visitation (TONIGHT) Thursday, July 17th, from 4:30- 8:30 and Funeral Services on Friday, July 18th at 10:00 am.
