DILBAGH BEESLA's Obituary
Seven years to reaching a 100 years, Dilbagh Singh Beesla passed away on Sunday, January 24th, 2016. He was a son of a farmer with a vision for a life of discovery and opportunities for his family. He married a lovely, tall and fair, green-eyed, Punjabi, Pritam Kaur–a kohinoor. They were married nearly 65 years. She complemented his eccentric nature, with creating a warm home for all and making the best aloo and mooli parathas. He loved her dearly and often saying, she is one of a kind, a really good woman. Their union brought forth two generations—their beloved daughter Renu, son Parminder and their children. Dilbagh was unique. He was a seeker of knowledge and a teacher to all—always a reference–a walking encyclopedia. He was disciplined and revered by many, especially his students who decades later, still recall the lessons they learned. He was also very free-spirited and curious about the world, often taking his grandchildren on adventures, including bringing home their first dog-Rodger. He was kind, calm-natured, except when it came to a bad hand of cards, during a game of Rummy with his brother. He was humble never letting others know how accomplished he was. For instance, he earned a degree in child psychology in his 60s and well versed in many languages. He was determined and boundless, even until the very end he was independent—living in the Decoto, Union City apartment until the end—his home for nearly two decades and one he was fond of.Most importantly, he is cherished by his family. He blessed them with valuable lessons and priceless memories. He will be greatly missed.Mr. and Ms. Beesla are resting in peace, awaiting a new adventure.
