Delphina Herrera's Obituary
Delphina Lara Herrera was born on February 20, 1944, in Ozona, Texas. She passed away on April 25, 2022, surrounded by loving family. She lived most of her years in Union City, California. Last ten years she lived in Manteca, California with her daughter Melissa, three granddaughters, Cecilia, Mariana, and Emily, and two great-grandsons, Isaiah and Santana.
Delphina was the eldest of ten siblings. She graduated from James Logan High School. She worked various jobs throughout her life such as daycare provider, and warehouse worker. For the majority of her life, she provided quality service as an in-home care provider to the elderly.
Although she never learned to drive a car that never stopped her from finding her way around on the local bus or BART. She worked hard to provide for her family. She was a loving mother and gave her all to support her children no matter what. She enjoyed sharing a good meal with those she loved and hanging out with her sisters as she was able. She was a woman of faith and prayed for her kids, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and family.
She is preceded in death by her parents Adolfo and Anita Lara, siblings Larry Lara and Adolfo Lara Jr. She is survived by her son Robert & daughter-in-law Gina Hernandez, daughter Melissa & son-in-law Frank Jimenez, grandchildren: Naomi Hernandez, Robert Hernandez Jr., John Hurtado Jr. (AKA “JJ”), Victor Hernandez, Anthony Abello, Daniel Abello, Joseph Blanco, Cecilia Ponce, Mariana Ponce, and Emily Ponce; siblings: Alice Gonzales, Becky Moreno, Ernestine Guerrero, Olga Mascorro, Richard Lara, Andrea Barrientos, and Andrew Lara. She is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews.
