Debra Ann Hurtado1958-2018It is with great sadness that the family of Debra Ann (Christy) Hurtado of Hayward,announce her sudden passing on October 1. 2018 at the age of 60 years old.A lifelong resident of Hayward, “Debbie” was born to Manuel and Leocadia Christy on July 29, 1958 and was an alumni of Hayward High School, class of 1976. The baby of five siblings, Debbie was a precious member of her close knit Mexican American family. She was everyone’s favorite Aunt, a loyal cousin and a cherished Godmother and beautiful friend to so many. Debbie was guided by her faith and her love of family and her many pets.Debbie was a fantastic cook who was generous with her time and known for her welcoming spirit and sense of humor.She was a compassionate soul with a nurturing heart who spent the last two decades in the medical profession caring for her patients and visiting with convalescent residents.Debbie is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Antonio Hurtado Jr., and her adored siblings, Norma Baker and Lucy Casci, both of Hayward, and Alfred Christy of Pinole.She was preceded in death earlier this year by her oldest sister Elvia Rico.Debbie was beloved by her numerous nieces and nephews who were often lifted by her thoughtfulness and trademark cards of support and love.Debbie’s bright smile, warm laughter and healing hugs will be forever remembered and missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
