Deborah Sue McAtee's Obituary
On the morning of Thursday, October 06, 2022, after a long illness, Deborah Sue McAtee, loving wife of John V. McAtee, mother of Sarah San Nicolas, mother in law of Justin San Nicolas, grandmother of Gunnar, Skyler, and Calder San Nicolas, brother of James and Wayne Taylor, passed away at the age of sixty years old in Tracy, California.
Deborah was born in Lansing, Michigan on the 23rd day of June, 1962 to Parents Ken and Sue Taylor. She was sixty years old. She is preceded in death by her Father Ken Dean Taylor, Mother Sue Carol Taylor, and grandson Gunnar San Nicolas. She is survived by her husband John Ventura McAtee, daughter Sarah San Nicolas, grandchildren Skyler and Calder San Nicolas, son in law Justin San Nicolas, brothers James and Wayne Taylor, and numerous other family members and friends.
Deborah was an incredibly loving, understanding and forgiving person who was able to overcome a great deal of strife in her life. Family meant everything to her. On the 22nd day of June 2002 she married John Ventura McAtee who was able to give her a happy, supportive life. They had just celebrated they’re 20th wedding anniversary and we’re still very much in love.
Deborah was blessed with three beautiful grandchildren whom she adored. Tragedy struck when her firstborn grandson Gunnar was killed in an accident. With help from God and her family she was able to overcome.
In 2003 Debbie began work as an optician for the Tracy Walmart where she achieved two professional optical licenses. She loved her job helping people and making many friends.
Debbie was very talented. She played the flute, she loved to knit, making various knitted item’s which she gave to friends. She took an interest in her husband John’s hobby of photography.
Debbie had been diagnosed with PAH, a life threatening illness. With treatment and a strong will to live she was able to live a happy, productive life for many years. She also took part in a PAH support group sharing her experience, strength, and hope with others. Debbie was and is an Angel. She will be missed by many. Especially her devoted husband John who was truly blessed to have been given such a precious gift.
Debbie left this world knowing she was greatly loved by many.
