A long-time resident of Hayward, Dawn is survived by her husband of 59 years, Gilbert Shepard, 1 brother: Norman Shearer of San Jose, 3 daughters: Melissa Payne of Tracy, Jennifer Atkins also of Tracy, and Rebecca Shepard of Sacramento. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Rudolf & Muriel Shearer, 3 sisters: Charlene Groff, Beverly Murphy, & Mary Ann Ulrich, 1 brother: Rudolph Shearer, and her son, Douglas Shepard.
