DAVID L. WOOD's Obituary
David L. Wood passed away in Oakland, California on January 13, 2003. He was 56 years old. Dave was a completely loyal friend who wanted only the best for everyone. A great athlete, he excelled at every sport he played, including basketball, baseball and football. He especially loved basketball and played for many teams. He was on the junior varsity at St. Joseph’s High School – Jason Kidd’s alma mater. Dave loved Cal’s basketball and football teams, remembering exact dates, places, and accomplishments of U.C. Berkeley’s athletes from the 1950’s – and before – to the new millennium. Today Dave is wearing Blue & Gold for eternity.Dave is survived by his brother, James L. Wood, sister-in-law, Patricia A. Wood, nephew, Jeffrey J. Wood, niece, Ann Marie Wood, cousins John and Teddy Bare, and his lifelong friend, Craig Dill. A cryptside gathering will be held on Friday, January 17th at 2:00pm at Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Ave., Oakland Ca.
