David Wilson's Obituary
David was born to Gwendolyn Wilson and Testing Wilson on August 21,1956. By all accounts he was a happy baby. He attended Sunday School at the fifth Church of Christian Science in Oakland with his siblings. He enjoyed playing outdoors with his siblings. He loved playing baseball. David was also a singer. He was a member of the choir at Burkhalter Elementary School. He graduated from Castlemont High School and attended Laney College. He also took classes at the University of Berkeley through a program with Laney College.. He later attended South Berkeley Congregation Church where his mother and grandparents were charter members. .David did not meet strangers; he gravitated toward people. He was beloved by children and he loved them. He enjoyed entertaining at his home in North Oakland. He loved women and managed to remain on good terms after they were no longer in a relationship. He helped to raise two sets of children and he also had a goddaughter; Robin. He enjoyed having fun and went on several cruises. He enjoyed dressing; matching from hat to shoes. He had his initials embroidered on his shirt cuffs. He worked for Markstein Beverage and later Horizon. While working at Markstein, he began to work nights at FedEx. He retired in 2022 after working full time for FedEx. We will deeply miss David.
He was preceded in death by his father in 2002 and by his brother Curtis O. Wilson in August 2022. He leaves to mourn; Gwendolyn Jones-Wilson (Mother), Peggy Wilson (Sister)., Dr. Stacy Wilson (brother) and Gregory M. Wilson (Brother). Heleaves his uncle Christopher (Apryl} Wilson in Michigan. Also, multiple cousins, family and friends. He also leaves to mourn many former co-workers, neighbors and people he met throughout the years.
