David Ballou Hoxie's Obituary
David B. Hoxie, 73 passed away at his home in Sunol, California on Friday, January 18, 2002. He was born in Blossvale, New York on January 2, 1929. He was a resident of Sunol, California for 45 years. David served in the U.S. Navy in the Korean War. He was Past President and Treasurer of Alviso Rotary Club. He was a member of the Sunol Business Guild. David served on the Sunol School Board. He was also a member of the Southlander Fuschia Club. He owned and operated Hoxie Development for the last 33 years, a demolition land clearing company. Your family loves you and will miss you dearly.David was preceded in death by his son, Ian Hoxie and a brother, Gordon Hoxie. He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Virginia Joan Hoxie of Sunol, California. He is also survived by his loving children; Cynthia Hoxie and Lowell Hoxie both of Sunol, California. David leaves behind his two dear sisters and brother; Lois Moulton of Sunnyvale, Jean Armstrong of Blossvale, New York and Norman Hoxie of Anacortes, Washington. He has six very beautiful grandchildren; Erin, Jason, Megan, Amanda, Galen and Travis Hoxie all of Sunol, California.Family and Friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Wednesday, January 23, 2002 from 5:30 p.m. ' 8:30 p.m. at Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ Later-Day Saints; 6100 Paseo Santa Cruz, Pleasanton, CA 94588 with Interment to follow at Lone Tree Cemetery; 24591 Fairview Drive, Hayward, CA 94545.The family has requested donations in lieu of flowers to be sent in his memory to the Rotary Foundation: Alviso Club; P.O.
