David Edge's Obituary
David Lee Edge, a long time Fremont resident, passed away in Hayward, CA on Saturday, August 27th, 2022 at the age of 79.
David was born in New Martinsville, West Virginia on May 9, 1943. He moved to California with his parents in 1945. David grew up in San Leandro, CA. David attended Epiphany Lutheran Church where he met his wife Barbara when he was only 11 years old and she was 9 years old. They would later be married in the same church in 1963 and then move to Fremont, CA where they would continue to raise their two daughters. David started his own business in 1984, a machine shop, which he ran until 2004. Due to major health issues, David closed his business so he and Barbara could focus on his health and his family.
David enjoyed working on cars, hunting, fishing, woodworking, making furniture, building his own motor home and of course he enjoyed his PEPSI.
David is preceded in death by his father Okey Lee Edge, his mother Ruth Virginia (Witschey) Edge and infant brother Paul Leslie Edge.
David is survived by loving wife of 59 years, Barbara Edge, daughter Laura Edge, daughter Linda (Edge) Weber, son-in-law Brian Weber, grandson Christopher Weber, sister-in- law Nancy Felato, brother-in-law Alan Felato, nephew Jesse Felato as well as many other dear family members and friends.
Services will be held at Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward on September 16th, 2022 at 12 noon, followed by a light luncheon at the Edge home in Fremont. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association or charity of your choice.
