Danny CY Yang's Obituary
Danny C.Y. Yang passed away on December 16,2022 at the blessed age of 100. After several months of declining health, Danny died peacefully at home with his family by his side.
Danny was born in Shanghai, China on July 18, 1922, to Mr. Lin-zhi and Mrs. He-zhi Yang. He was the oldest son of the family. Danny was given a wonderful and privileged childhood.
He graduated from Fudan University with a degree in Accounting/Business. During his studies, he met his future wife, Lily Sun; smitten by her at a Christmas party. Danny and Lily married on June 21, 1947.
Shortly after, the couple escaped from Communist rule to Hong Kong. Ten years later, Danny and Lily, wanting a better future for their five (5) children, immigrated to the United States; settling in Berkeley California.
According to Danny, his strong work ethics, and desire to take care of his family were the secrets to his longevity.
Danny is survived by his older sister Grace Yang-Yin of Ohio; his five (5) children: Alicia Yang Eades and husband, Walter; Constance Yang Chan and husband, Joseph; Victoria Yang and her husband, William Rodenburg; Danny Yang Jr. and wife, Jenny; Percy Yang and wife, Cindy; ten (10) grandchildren: Kevin Takao, Michelle Takao Caso , Austin Chan, Bryant Chan, Chanelle Yang, Danielle Yang Takao, Christine Yang Sanchez, Elizabeth Yang, Nicole Yang, and Eric Yang; and his six (6) great grandchildren.
A visitation/viewing for Danny is planned for January 12, 2023, from 4pm to7pm. The visitation will be at the Chapel of the Chimes on 32992 Mission Blvd, Hayward California 94544.
The funeral will be held on January 13, 2023, also at the Chapel of the Chimes from 9am to 10:30am, followed by a burial procession to the cemetery.
