Danny Rodriguez's Obituary
Danny Rodriguez, 77 Danny Rodriguez was born on February 16, 1935 in Vanadium, New Mexico and entered into rest on December 24, 2012 in Fremont, CA at the age of 77. He was the beloved Husband to Joann Rodriguez, and Father to Vivian and Stephen. Additionally he was the dear Brother to Virginia Rodriguez. Danny was a very strong man who came from modest upbringings, but he always had a great sense of right from wrong. He utilized his resources and sought out those that could help him become a better man by joining the military and learning a trade in the railroad. He worked very hard and became a Supervisor at Southern Pacific Railroad. It was important for him to provide for his family, but not just provide, he sent his children to the best private and catholic schools. He was married to Joann Rodriguez for 57 years and remained a faithful and loving Husband. They were inseparable and really enjoyed life together. Together they traveled, loved movies, danced and kept up on current events through extensive reading. Danny and Joann glided together on the dance floor like Fred and Ginger. Danny was a very creative and artistic man with immense patience. He did not rush anything, but believed in doing things right or not doing them at all. He painted many beautiful oil paintings that adorn his family’s house. He also worked with stained glass. Danny was a musician in High School playing the saxophone in the school band, and his love of music flourished throughout the rest of his life. He played the keyboard after he retired, but it was the guitar that really became his instrument. He took lessons and even learned how to play the electric guitar where he would practice for hours in his office. Danny’s love for beauty could be seen in his wonderful evolving garden in his back yard of his house. He planted orange, lemon, tomato and chili pepper trees that continue to produce fruit for his family to enjoy today. Service for Danny Rodriguez will commence on Thursday, January 3rd at 11 AM at Holy Spirit Church in Fremont, CA. Ground side service will be held at Chapel of the Chimes at 1 PM, in Hayward, CA, followed by a Memorial Reception and Tribute Luncheon from 2-5:30 PM, at Century House & Gardens.
