Danny Dorris Sr.'s Obituary
A son of the Smokey Mountain region has returned home. Danny Dorris, Sr., born November 13, 1939, to Albert L. Dorris and Altha Mae Stubblefield, of Robertson County, Tennessee. Passed July 18, 2022, at the age of 82, while in Hospital care, after a dual heart bypass procedure. In truth our dad passed from a broken heart as his wife Gloria of 59 years passed a few months before on April 3rd.
Danny Dorris, Sr. was a veteran of the U.S. National Guard as well as the U.S. Army Ranger’s from 1957 to 1962. He went on with a career in trucking, even at one time creating his own Trucking Company, “Dorris Trucking”. Years went by, Danny had a huge interest in electronics and radios. After moving to Reno Nevada he started a career at the University of Nevada Reno, in their Maintenance Department as a Supervisor, where he retired from.
Danny Dorris, Sr. is survived by three children and their spouses. Eva M. Dorris/McLean, husband Robert. Tina Marie Dorris/Sena, husband Clyde and Danny Dorris, Jr. and wife Lisa.
Grandchildren: Janise; Lori; Joshua; Lauren; Marcos; Brandon and his four legged fury grandson Rocky. Great Grandchildren: Kiersten, Ashton and Lily Marie. As well other Nieces/Nephews.
A private family service will be held graveside at the Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward, CA. on Aug.11th. Where husband and wife will be reunited, dancing to their favorite country music.
