Celebrating the Life of Danny FernandezDanilo “Danny” Corpuz Fernandez was born on November 29, 1953 in Solano, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines to Rafael and Chiles Fernandez. He is the youngest of 5 children, Linda, Ronnie, Lorna, and Neddy. Danny graduated from the University of Manila and double majored in Civil & Sanitation Engineering. In 1982 he moved to the United States. He took his career to the East Coast and worked in Maryland for a short period of time, then continued as a civil engineer with Signet Testing Laboratories in Hayward, and finally as a building inspector at Lawrence Laboratory at UC Berkeley. He retired early, after working for over 25 years.After his retirement he enjoyed caring for others. He loved being with his family, taking care of his parents, taking care of his many dogs, going fishing, taking his friends and family on random excursions, cooking for others, smoking salmon heads and bellies, barbecuing, gardening, traveling to places like Medjugorje, Puerto Vallarta, New York, Virginia and to the Philippines. All the while, he loved being a great friend, helping hand, and mentor to so many people.Danny Fernandez was an avid parishioner at All Saints Catholic Church in Hayward. He attended 7AM Mass every Sunday with his mom and even helped as an usher.Danny is survived by his daughter, Danika, his mom Chiles, his sister Linda, his nieces and nephews, Maria Cristina (Akit), Maria Kathrina (Aying), Maria Donna (Donna), Maria Olivia (Olive), Ronaldo (Jojo), Alvin, Lorna, Rachelle, Hazel-Anne, Lara, Dennis, their families and his two dogs Chichi and Bingo.Danny is loved dearly and will be dearly missed.
