Daniel De La Cruz's Obituary
Daniel “Sammy” De La Cruz,53, of Union City, Ca., passed away on July 8, 2018, Peacefully in his sleep.The funeral service will be held at 8:30 AM on July 27, 2018 at Chapel of the Chimes Funeral home. Robert Romeo and Robert Hernandez Jr. will be officiating. Visitation will be held at 5:00PM on July 26, 2018 at Reflection Chapel, Chapel of the Chimes. Burial will follow the funeral at Chapel of the Chimes Cemetery.Daniel known as “Sammy” to friends and family; was loved by many and will be missed. He was a skilled wrestler for James Logan High School in his youth, and excelled at billiards as well as blackjack later in life. He loved to tell stories and sing Spanish music as loud as he could. Daniel was a gifted artist and mechanic. He will be remembered for his skills at the barbeque, his dapper style, love of cars, immense pride in his culture, and unique sense of humor.Daniel is survived by his mother Yolanda Hidalgo-Flores, his father Robert Hernandez, his children Gloria Sanchez, Cassaundra DeLaCruz-Guevara, Samuel DeLaCruz Samantha DeLaCruz, Jesse DeLaCruz, Richard DeLaCruz, Ariana DeLaCruz, and Annabel DeLaCruz. His siblings Sylvia Langley, Sandra Hernandez- DeLaCruz, Robert Hernandez Jr., Mario Hernandez, Domingo Hernandez, Dora DeLaCruz, Jennie Jauregui, Monique Hernandez, Crystal Hernandez-Kara, and Kristen Hernandez. His grandchildren Daniella Rodriguez, Emmalie Knopfer-Guevara, Isabella Ruiz-DeLaCruz, Jordan Rodriguez, Julian Rodriguez, and Maricella DeLaCruz; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.Daniel is preceded in death by his father Daniel DeLaCruz, his grandparents Amado and Juanita DeLaCruz, Maria Salazar, Pedro Hidalgo, and Leroy Linn.Flowers and memorial donations may be given to Chapel of the Chimes and Cassaundra DeLaCruz-Guevara. The family of Daniel De La Cruz wishes to thank all those who contributed to make these services possible.
