Danh Van Nguyen's Obituary
Danh Van Nguyen was born on June 11, 1953 in My Tho, Vietnam. He was recruited into the Vietnam Air Force at the very young age of 18 as a Flight Mechanic Air Man in 1971. He served for 4 years in the Vietnam Air Force. In 1977, Danh immigrated to the United States where he met the love of his live, PhuongChi Phan. They eventually married in 1982. Danh was an owner of a Mexican restaurant called Pepe’s in Hayward, a Kitchen Manager for United Airlines, and a Supervisor for Caltrans where he eventually retired in 2017. Danh was remembered as a extremely caring, hardworking and creative man. He was always committed in making sure the people around him were having a good time. He loved to cook and put smiles on people’s faces. His favorite hobby was fishing and in 2008, he was able to fulfill one of his life’s dreams and purchase his own boat. He always had the biggest smile on his face when there was a fish in his hands. Danh faced a long and tough battle with cancer ever since 2008. Unfortunately, Danh passed away due to complications with the chemotherapy on November 27th, 2017. Danh was survived by his wife, PhuongChi Phan and his two sons: Chris Nguyen and Arthur Nguyen.
