Daljit Singh Chadha's Obituary
Daljit Singh Chadha, also known as “Billa” to his loved ones was born on May 1, 1942 in Rawalpindi in northern pre-partition India (now Pakistan). He entered into eternal rest on October 25, 2016.He migrated to the US in 1987 with his family, spending the last 29 years residing in Union City. His unconditional love and affection, his magical generous spirit, his infectious smile and devotion to his family will carry on as his legacy. We will always remember how he would hold our hands tightly and kiss them like he never wanted to let go, and now we are the ones who don’t want to let him go, but we know we have to. We know that wherever we go and whatever we do, he will be right there holding our hands throughout our lives. He also will be remembered for how he lived: with dignity, honesty, humility, and integrity. He will be deeply missed, but his impact on all of us will live on forever in our hearts and minds. He is survived by his wife, son, daughter, daughter-in-law, son-in-law and five grandchildren. He also leaves behind many friends and family whom have united today to bid him our final farewell.Even in his last few days, he entertained his attending physicians and nurses by reciting the following “shayari” with his ever present, infectious smile:Na haso hum pe duniya waalo ki hum bhi hai zamaane ke thukraye hue….
