I'm so sorry for your loss. I need to speak to someone in the family. Please call me at 510-906-8285.
I met Cyntania through her friend, Bella Dalton! She was a reticent to accept me as she was very protective of her friend. We became better acquainted and she accept me. I've seen her care and concern for those that she cared about. The way she was there for Bee made me comment on more than one occasion that everyone should have a Cyntania in their life. I meant that with every fiber of my being. It made me want to "be like" Cyntania to my friends and family. Her heart was huge. I felt special to be included in her circle, even if from the fringe. It's a blessing to have someone in your life for which there is no such thing as "too much" or "too far". She was a special human being! I feel better for having known her! Rest in peace Cyntania!

Celebrating the Life of Cyntania
Our beloved cousin and friend, Cyntania—affectionately known as "TT"—was called home to join her ancestors after a life filled with love, adventure, and devotion. For those of us lucky enough to know her, we will forever cherish the way she made us feel: protected, supported, and deeply loved.
We grew up together in Berkeley, thick as thieves since the 60s. From school hallways to family gatherings with our bestie cousin Camille Faye, Cyntania was a constant presence—always ready with a laugh, a story, and an open heart. If she loved you, you had a protector for life. She would stand by you, fight for you, and make sure you never felt alone.
She was my ride-or-die, my Thelma without the Louise ending. Whether it was flying across the country (even when I was terrified of planes!) or setting out on road trips and cruises, she was always up for an adventure. We shared a passion for family history, and together we discovered our roots. One of our most memorable trips was to Virginia, where Cyntania walked the land of her ancestors—descended from Charles Lee, brother of Robert E. Lee—standing tall as a free and independent woman. It was a powerful moment that we both treasured.
Cyntania was a proud alumna of Tuskegee University and an equally proud soror of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority. I’ll never forget the day we spent in Atlanta, hunting down every sorority souvenir we could find—she wouldn’t have it any other way!
She embraced life with curiosity and compassion. As an honorary member of the Korean Adoptee community, she accompanied me to events, volunteered her time, and quickly became an advocate for family reunification through DNA testing. She loved learning about Korean culture and was deeply committed to helping others find their roots.
In our family, TT was a cherished figure. She wrapped her love around every new baby with a handmade quilt, each one stitched with care and joy. Her nieces, nephews, and her beloved godson, Lil Will, held special places in her heart, and she made sure they knew it.
Cyntania also held her Berkeley High School Class of '79 close. She made every effort to stay connected, attending reunions and events as often as she could.
Her spirit was big, her love was fierce, and her laugh was unforgettable. Though she has flown home, she leaves behind a legacy of love, family, and friendship that will live on in all of us.
Fly high, TT. We love you always.
I shared this on FACEBOOK..but let me do so here as well...
Yesterday, we all referred to you in present tense; and today, they referred of you in past tense and it hit me like a rocket.
It is unacceptable that I am typing a dedication like this one for you!
I refuse the idea that you're not going to call me so we could vent to each other our work frustrations, so we could end up laughing sarcastically at anything we shared!
Why so soon? Why not a good bye chance??
So suddenly and so abruptly you left to your forever home!!!!
I'm feeling confused, sad, guilty and somehow angry too...BUT, God Called your name my friend 🧡 and now you will dance in heaven's PURPLE RAIN!!!
I promise I will seek for you whenever my turn comes, to hug 🫂 you and share a laugh one more time. I can picture you and Beth Nickell on an everlasting"break" time together!!!!
