Curtis Allen Knudson's Obituary
Curtis “Curt” Allen Knudson, of Castro Valley, CA, passed away on December 22, 2023. Curtis was born on November 8, 1959 in Berkeley, California to parents Wayne and Alice Knudson. He grew up in El Cerrito, CA. He is survived by his wife Debra, daughter Cristina and two beloved granddaughters Kalaya and Kloe. He also had two stepsons Alberto and Mauricio Teran and two grandchildren Kamila and Johan. Curtis is also survived by his sister Cheryl Hussey and four brothers Randal, Dennis, Douglas and Harry Knudson. He is also survived by his nephew Darin and five nieces, Mellissa Cunningham, Alicia Hernandez, Angela Knudson, Chelsea Tatola and Heather Knudson. Curtis also considered his daughter’s best friends of more than 20 years, Ria Boyce and Baylie Duncan as his adopted daughters who affectionately called him “PK”. Curtis is preceded in death by his sister Diana Foster.
Curtis spent most of his life working with his family at Hayward IHOP where he made many friends over the years. Curtis was an excellent baseball player in his younger years and when he hung up his cleats, discovered he was great at billiards as well, spending time at many local pool rooms. Curtis was an avid Bay Area sports fan and no matter the sport, he did not miss a game! He also didn’t miss an opportunity to make you laugh which is what most will remember him by, “know what I’m sayin’?”.
Services will be held at 12:30pm on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Chapel of the Chimes Mission Chapel, 32992 Mission Blvd, Hayward, CA 94544. Burial will follow the funeral service at 2:15pm also at Chapel of the Chimes Hayward Memorial Park.
