Corazon E. Ariosa's Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Corazon E. Ariosa. On Saturday, the twenty-fourth of September, 2022, Mrs. Ariosa quietly slipped away from her earthly bonds and gently entered into eternal rest. She will be forever loved and missed by her devoted family and friends.
Cora was born in Santa Cruz, Manila, Philippines to Feliculo Villaram Encila and Monica Agad Manual Encila. She was the eldest of nine siblings, Luisa, Renato, Ruben, Domingo, Fernando, Victoria, Lina, and Rodie.
She graduated from Arellano High School, Manila. Shortly after, she met and fell in love with COL Amerigo S. Ariosa, PMA Class of 1964
Cora received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 1966.
Cora married Amerigo in a Civil Ceremony, followed by a formal wedding at St. Ignatius Church in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City, P.I. Cora and Amerigo had three wonderful children, Gloria, Glover, and Lourdes.
Cora came to the United States in the early eighties, living at first in Alameda, then settling in San Leandro.
Cora worked at Pacific Bell for 20 years, where she retired as a Service Rep. She then worked for another 6 years as a Service Rep at the S.F. Chronicle.
Cora loved her family, and her pride and joy were her three grandchildren, Aria, Gavin, and Anson.
Cora’s passion was to involve herself with the Women’s Clubs of the Bay Area, and she was active in several charities.
She served as President of the Philippine Women’s Club
of the East Bay from 1996 to 1998, and was a member of the California Federal Women’s Club of Alameda
from 2014 to 2018.
