Grandpa Clyde was so full of spirit and life, he was unbelievably sassy! Grandma Mary told me when I was 6 how to get even with him, pull his chest hair!!!!! Us kids found out early that when we would play games, he would set us up in the same location in the dining room. We later found out that it was because of the proximity and angle of the mirror in the room, he could see our cards, dominos, etc! When my husband Ed was working in the Stockton area, they invited him to stay at their home rather than stay at a hotel. Each night, upon arrival from work, they would greet him with an ice cold beer wrapped in a paper towel. They would encourage his work stories, fed him well, and provided many vitamin supplements to boost his immunity!!! In his later years, when we visited, the kids would play the same “cheating” practices on him that he used in his earlier years; always to his chagrin and annoyance. He will be dearly missed……he was such a loving father, grandfather..and great-grandfather. Melissa Goff
