Clifton Wayne Liggins' Obituary
Clifton Wayne Liggins was born on June 1, 1952 to the late R.B. Liggins and Mary Liggins in Oakland, CA. He received Christ Jesus as his Savior as a child and was baptized by the late Herbert Guice at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. He received his education in Oakland, CA and graduated from St Elizabeth High School. Clifton Liggins attended Bethel Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorage of Rev. Herbert Guice. He was the first president of the newly formed Youth Usher Board. In 1980 he married Sheila Simone?. To this union was born two sons, Jacobi Liggins and Isaiah Liggins. He worked twenty years for the Oakland Public Library. Clifton loved music and sports. He played bass in numerous reggae bands and coached CYO basketball and Oakland Babe Ruth baseball. He later umpired for the Oakland Babe Ruth League. Preceding him in death are his wife Sheila Liggins, and his parents, R.B. and Mary Liggins. Clifton Wayne Liggins leaves to mourn: two sons, Jacobi Wayne Liggins and Isaiah Dijon Liggins; two granddaughters, Jashaia Liggins and Jordan Liggins; two grandsons, Isaiah Liggins Jr. and Jacobi Liggins Jr.; one brother-in-law, Gill Hamon; and a host of loving family and friends.
