Cleotilde Jimenez's Obituary
Cleotilde Conanan Jimenez was born in Nabas, Aklan, Philippines on June 3, 1933 to Rosalia and Romualdo Conanan. She was the third child of seven siblings. She passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on June 21, 2019 in Union City and joins her husband, Raymundo Jimenez. She is survived by her four children: Cynthia, Cecilia, Charito, Robert and her six grandchildren: Joseph, Brian, Renee, Monica, Olivia and Lauren.Cleo was a collegiate swimmer at the University of the East where she majored in Home Economics. Ray and Cleo were college sweethearts and married in 1955. In 1966 she emigrated to San Francisco, California to join her husband who migrated 2 years earlier and subsequently her children two years later. She became a hairdresser and later a business owner of “Brentwood Beauty Salon” in South San Francisco in 1970. A few years later she moved to a larger location in San Bruno named “Cleo’s Beauty Salon”. Due to the growing success, a second salon was later established in San Mateo. Cleo permanently retired in 1995 with her husband to their beautiful home in Pangasinan, Philippines. They continued to visit their children and grandchildren in California every year. Upon her husband’s passing in 2000, Cleo eventually returned to United States to be with her family. Cleo was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a hard worker, selfless, genuine, kind and generous to others, who would give her shirt off her back to those in need. She loved to cook, entertain, sew and spend time with her family The energy she had in her younger days is a testament to how truly tireless she was and how active she tried to be. She was also deeply passionate about sports, especially the Golden State Warriors. Cleo enjoyed playing solitaire and her Filipino soap operas.
