Clarice Ferreira's Obituary
Clarice Ferreira passed away on October 3, 2024 at the age of 100. She was born on February 9, 1924 in Bristol, Rhode Island, to Manuel and Bertha Carvalho. The family moved to the Madeira Islands for most of her youth.
Clarice returned to the United States in 1945 and settled in Boston, Massachusetts, where she met her future husband, Mario Ferreira. They were married on September 18, 1948. In 1953 Clarice and Mario moved their family to Hayward, California.
Clarice was preceded in death by her husband, Mario, daughter, Dolores Cummings and son-in-law David Cummings.
Clarice leaves behind her son, Mario Ferreira Jr. and daughter-in-law Susan Ferreira; six grandsons: Michael Ferreira, Steven Ferreira(Amanda), Chris Ferreira (Carol), Danny Ferreira, Matt Cummings (Lindsey) Aaron Cummings; four great-grandchildren: Emmy Ferreira, Evie Ferreira, Logan Cummings and Ben Cummings. Clarice is also survived by her brothers Harry Carvalho and Eddie Carvalho, and sister Mary Jo Gray, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial service to be held on October 17, 2024 at 12 pm at Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home, 32992 Mission Blvd. Hayward, CA 94544
