Chung Wai Wong's Obituary
Our beloved Chung Wai Wong, 92, passed away peacefully at home on November 11, 2020 with his family by his side. Chung, the son of Yuk and Wai (Au) Wong, was born May 30, 1928 in Hong Kong. He graduated from Pui Ching High School and married Suk Li on December 12, 1955. Chung began his career as a businessman under the wings of his father. He had a diversified career path where he worked in the oil industry, real estate development, restaurant, and trading businesses. He was the president of Pui Ching High School Alumnus Association in Macau and continued to be an active alumnus during his retirement. His contribution to his high school was praised by his fellow alumnus for many years. He retired in 1987 from his business. Afterwards, Chung moved to the US with his wife, where he was reunited with two of his children, Micheline and Terence. He and his wife loved to travel. Some of his favorite places to visit were the Caribbean, Costa Rica, Europe, and China. Another one of Chung’s passions was outdoor activities, including badminton, basketball, hiking, traveling, and gardening. Chung also found joy in playing MahJong with family and friends.
The family, along with many friends, has lost a wonderful human being. Chung lived to make others happy. His generosity to people and love of life will be greatly missed. His life was interrupted, but while he was on this Earth, he embraced opportunities and the chance to experience life with open arms. His sense of humor and charming ways can never be replaced. Chung was one of a kind.
Those who will miss Chung the most include his wife, daughter - Micheline and her husband Joe, sons - William, Sam, and
Terence, his siblings, a host of close friends, grandsons, granddaughters, other family members including in-laws, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, many nieces and nephews, and his Pui Ching High School brothers. He was reunited in Heaven with his parents. Service to celebrate Chung’s life will be held in the Chapel of the Chimes, Hayward with Pastor Edmond officiating.
