Christian L. Calingo's Obituary
Christian Loreto Calingo was born on July 21, 1978 in Manilla where he lived till he was 14 years old. His late parents were Carlos and Ligaya. He is the youngest of 3 children. His brothers are Carmelo (Mel) and Chester. When he came to the US, he attended Logan High School in Union City. He was a medical coder for the past 13 years, most recently at Kaiser Permanente. Christian lived in various places from Union City, Tracy and then Castro Valley. He met Diana in September 2001 at the Fall Festival in Castro Valley. They dated and got married on September 8, 2007. On August 1, 2010 they welcomed Alex into the family. His favorite hobbies and activities included cooking, djing, photography, building Legos, building Gundam models, going to the gun range, playing video games and running races. He enjoyed hanging out with his Mazda group of friends where he made some of the closest friends. He was a fan of the Golden State Warriors and Oakland A’s. Special moments that he loved with Alex was playing and building Legos together and talking about Star Wars & Garbage Trucks. With Diana he enjoyed shopping, going out to eat, trying new places, and traveling. They had planned a trip for Hawaii for their upcoming 10 year anniversary. Chris was currently on dialysis due to kidney failure. Just 3 weeks away from getting a transplant he passed away at home.
