Chin Yueh Wang's Obituary
Born on October 5, 1937 in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan to loving parents who named her "Golden Leaf" as a wish for her to have a "Golden Life", Chin Yueh Wu lived through Japan's WWII invasion of China and Taiwan until Japan's surrender in 1945. She was eight years old then, but since the war had just ended, she did not have a chance to go to school and get an education. At the age of 16, Chin Yueh was working in a pharmaceutical company, where she met Mr. Ching Huang Wang. Two years later, they were married and lived in Kaohsiung City, where she was a loving housewife who took good care of her growing family.
In 1982, with the help of her sister Annie Wu and brother-in-law Denis O'Conner, she immigrated to the United States, and gradually, her whole family joined her. Since then, for the past 40 years, Chin Yueh has happily lived in the US as the head of her family's daily life. She raised her grandchildren and doted on her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren by making their favorite homecooked meals, which included fried rice, fried noodles, fried rice noodles, steam buns, sticky rice balls, and other Taiwanese delicacies.
During the holidays, she enjoyed traveling with her family, with some highlights including: 17 Miles Drive, Carmel Beach, Disneyland, Reno, Las Vegas, and cruises. Her favorite activities included playing blackjack at the casino, gardening, eating at buffets, and later, playing Candy Crush on her cell phone.
In October 2021, doctors unfortunately discovered that Chin Yueh had stage IV pancreatic cancer. When Chin Yueh passed away at 9:00 am on September 15th, she passed away peacefully in her sleep as she had wished, surrounded by her family who all love and miss her.
