It is with profound sadness that Chapel of the Chimes announces the passing of Chiles Fernandez. On the twenty-fifth of March, 2023, Mrs. Fernandez quietly slipped away from her earthly bonds and gently entered into eternal rest. Read Obituary
Chiles Fernandez has always been "Auntie Iling" to us, her nieces by her husband's (Raphael Fernandez +) first cousin, our father Marcelo Munar of Banaue Ifugao Province. Auntie Iling has always been a sweet, kindhearted and giving person. She exemplifies the values of humility, generosity, and thoughtfulness. Soft spoken that she is, when she comes to the city during our college years, she always checks on how we are doing, encouraging us to focus on our studies. She was an ardent supporter of positive dreams. Auntie Iling has played a big role in the realization of my dream to come to this country USA as a Registered Nurse. With all approved papers and an assured employment upon arrival in the US, I was short of finance. I didn't know where to turn to. My meager savings didn't suffice and I didn't want to bother my parents. My auntie Iling came to mind. When she came to the city, I timidly mentioned to her my situation. With no repeating my request, she immediately told me to drop by their house in Solano, Nva Vizcaya. She said, she was excited for me. She said to be like her daughter, mng Linda, who came to the US, and made good of her life and dream so that I too can help my parents and siblings. I told her I will. With my first US salary, I paid her back as I promised her. Every now and then I give them a ring in Ca. just to say Hi and see how they are doing. Her passing away came as a surprise and a shock but in a way I feel at peace that her departure was smooth and peaceful. Her physical self she left behind remained beautiful as she always was with an aura of peace about her. Her spirit has gone home and most certainly heading up to her Creator in heaven to enjoy eternal rest and peace and divine happiness until we all meet again. Thank you to our Almighty God for giving us auntie Iling who touched our lives in many positive ways.
To mng Linda and the Fernadez clan, our prayers are with you during this difficult time. The Munar family sends you our deepest sympathies.
Auntie, Thank you for everything! You will certainly be missed but you will always be thought of fondly. I pray, you rest in peace...and God speed as you head home to our Heavenly Father's welcoming arms. With much love, glory and siblings.
