Chester 'Chet' Joseph Bertelson a Fremont, California resident entered into rest Friday, January 31, 2003 in Hayward, California. Born in Marvin, South Dakota on November 10, 1916, he was 86 years of age. He liked to tinker, bowl and play horseshoes. Chester served in the U.S. Navy. Chester owned and operated a pre-cast concrete business for 30 years.Dearly beloved husband of Miriam Bertelson for 58 years. Loving father of Karen Anderson of Fremont, Mel Bertelson of Hayward and Ken Bertelson of Fremont. Dear brother of Evelyn Carter of Louisiana, Mildred Gunderson of South Dakota, Norris Bertelson of Virginia Beach and Bert Bertelson of South Dakota. Devoted grandfather of ten grandchildren.Visitation will be held Thursday, February 6, 2003 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward. Friends are welcome to attend a Funeral service Thursday, February 6, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. in the Mission Chapel at Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home.
