Cheryl Ann Llewellyn's Obituary
Cheryl A. Llewellyn, 67, of South Jordan, Utah, passed away on December 25, 2023 surrounded by her son Michael and the loving staff of her assisted living facility. Cheryl was born on November 11, 1956, in Castro Valley, CA. She was a caring, hardworking, and fun-loving person who brought light and a smile into every room she entered. Cheryl was known for her helpful nature and positive attitude. She was a fantastic self-sacrificing mother who would do anything for her children. She cherished her role as a grandmother and loved spending time with her granddaughter.
Cheryl is survived by her children, Michael Rogers of Taylorsville, UT, and Jennifer Rogers Abbott (Nick Abbott) of Livermore, CA. She was also a very proud grandmother to Charlie Abbott. Cheryl was preceded in death in 2023 by both of her older sisters, Leslie Simmons of Pleasanton, CA, and Susan Kerr of Coarsegold, CA.
Cheryl attended Tennyson High School in Hayward, CA, and graduated with the Class of 1976. She went on to have a successful career as a Personal Banker, where she was known for her hard work and dedication. Cheryl was a skilled relationship builder and genuinely wanted to help those she came in contact with. Prior to her banking career, Cheryl served as a Deputy for the Alameda County Sheriff's Department. Her time in law enforcement equipped her with the ultimate parenting skill of being a highly trained human BS detector, which served her well in raising her two children into adults.
In her free time, Cheryl volunteered as event staff at the Sundance Film Festival while living in Park City, Utah. She also enjoyed working as a TV "extra," appearing in episodes of "Blood & Oil" and "Yellowstone" while residing in Utah. In California, Cheryl appeared as an "extra" on a TV show called "Partners in Crime." Her love for the entertainment industry was evident in her involvement.
A memorial service and burial will be held on January 20th, 2024, from noon (12pm) to 2pm at Chapel of the Chimes, located at 32992 Mission Blvd, Hayward, CA 94544.
Cheryl will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched. Her caring nature, hardworking spirit, and love for life will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
