Charlotte Ramos' Obituary
Charlotte Helena Ramos, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on July 17th at the age of 100. Charlotte was born on September 22, 1914 in Cowden, Illinois, the first of fourteen children born to Carl Franklin Glick and Nancy Ellen (Letsinger) Glick. As the oldest child, Charlotte assisted her mother cooking, cleaning, and sewing clothes for the family who grew oranges and raised chickens, hogs, and dairy cattle in Lindsay, California. These talents continued throughout her lifetime. With her first husband, Kenneth Coble, Charlotte raised four children in Hayward: Barbara Jeanne, Kenneth Darryl, Marvin Delbert, and Linda Sue. Charlotte was an amazing mother who loved caring for babies and continued doting on each child born to following generations. While working as a hostess at the Mandarin Chinese Restaurant, Charlotte met Fred Ramos. They were married 44 beautiful years. They made their home in Hayward, enjoyed their garden, and travels to Spain, Fred’s birthplace. Charlotte found joy within the Jehovah’s Witness faith and cherished her Kingdom Hall family. Charlotte is survived by her sons Kenneth Coble (Cindy) and Marvin Coble (Paulette), her daughter Linda Pastor and her son-in-law Richard Smith along with 23 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 21 great-great-grandchildren. Charlotte was predeceased by her daughter Barbara Jean Smith and her husband Fred Ramos. Services will be held at 1:00 at Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park, 32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Charlotte’s memory to Community Hospice, 2105 W. March Lane, Suite 2, Stockton, CA 95207 or the American Cancer Society.
