Charles E Torres' Obituary
Charles Edward Torres, after 90 fantastic and fulfilling years, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday September 19,2018. He was born on April 5, 1928 in Honolulu, Hawaii. After serving in the Merchant Marines near the end of WWII and the Army at the beginning of the Korean war he married his childhood sweetheart Gloria Mary Pina on February 7, 1948. They were married 55 years till Gloria’s passing in 2003, during which they had 7 children: Andy Smith, Gloria Ann Flores, Estella Joy, Charles Torres Jr., Aurea Tanchoco, Roberta Torres, and Donald Torres. He is also survived by 77 grandchildren through great-great grandchildren(with more on the way) and his brother Donald Toro and sister Irene Villegas. Funeral services will be held at Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward. Visitation will be on Friday September 28 from 5:30 pm – 9:00 pm, Rosary will be at 7:00 pm. Chapel service will be Saturday 29 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
