Charles "Mac" McFarland Ricard's Obituary
Charles 'Mac' McFarland Ricard, 69 passed away at his home of 35 years in Fremont, California on Wednesday, March 13, 2002. Mac was born to Melodie 'Sweet' and to Joseph 'Willie' Ricard on June 1, 1932 in Chanel, Louisiana. Mac worked in the construction business for 52 years as a Brick Mason, was a union member of local #3 Brick Layers Association for 50 years, and owned his own masonry business together with his son, Jeffrey Ricard. Mac was a very kind-hearted, generous person, he enjoyed spending time with his family, helping friends, working in the garden, camping and traveling. Mac's remarkable kindness touched the life of everyone he met. His special way with people allowed him to live a life of which was extraordinarily filled with love from all who knew him. His memories will be cherished forever.Mac was always dedicated to his beloved wife of 48 years, Dorothy A. Ricard of Fremont, California, a devoted father to two sons, Michael Ricard of Newark, California and Jeffrey Ricard of Fremont, California, two daughters, Glenda Weaver of Austin, Texas and Lisa Ricard of Fremont, California. A dear brother to his three sisters, Ray Helen Temple and Myrtle Ann Joyner both of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Natalie Ricard of Los Angeles, California. An adoring grandfather to six grandchildren, Erica and Andrea Ricard both of Fresno, California, Andre Darensbourg of Austin, Texas, Monique Williams, BJ Velez and Adrianna Velez all of Fremont, California. He also leaves behind his very precious great-granddaughter, Jocelyn Ricard of Fresno, California.Family and Friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Thursday, March 21, 2002 from 5:30 p.m. ' 8:30 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. at Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home ' Reflection Chapel; 32992 Mission Boulevard, Hayward, CA 94544. A Mass will be held on Friday, March 22, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church; 37588 Fremont Boulevard, Fremont, CA 94536.
