Charles Mitchell Barrack's Obituary
July 29, 1942 - March 8, 2020
Charles Mitchell Barrack, a resident of Hayward, CA, entered the Kingdom of Heaven on March 8th, 2020.
Most knew him as Mike, but his family fondly called him Mickey. Others referred to as “Mike the Barber” due to his occupation or “Motorcycle Mike” because of his affinity for Harley Davidsons.
Charles was born and raised in Hayward by his mother Elnora Barrack and father Charles Barrack.
Born during one war, he was drafted into another. During the Vietnam war, Charles served in the Army and stationed in Korea. He proudly called himself a veteran and served his country proud. Following his discharge, Charles hopped in his caddy and traveled through the states playing pool. He played in many tournaments and different pool halls across the country.
He was truly a free bird and he lived life doing everything he enjoyed. His moto was “enjoy life” and most definitely lived an enjoyable stress-free life. When a loved-one would come to him with a concern, he knew how to put things into perspective. He would usually say, “Don’t sweat the small stuff man.” Charles had a wonderful personality with great sense of humor. He had a knack for making people laugh and lit up a room with smiles every time he walked in.
After his years on the road he came back to Hayward California and was a proud owner of Mike’s Style Center, a barber shop in the Fairway Park neighborhood for over 25 years. After his retirement he moved to Marana, Arizona where he enjoyed soaking up the sun and riding his Harley. He wasn’t one for cold weather and he enjoyed the Arizona sunshine.
He had a love for traveling, cutting hair, playing pool, motorcycles, and women. He had three wonderful marriages throughout his life. Charles was married three times, first to Gail, then to Brenda, and third to Julie, with whom he raised his one and only daughter Jessica Barrack. He is survived Jessica, his son in law Niko Borrego and two grandsons, Elijah Borrego and Ethan Borrego of Oakdale, CA. He is also survived by his girlfriend Vickie Jacobs, brother Gary Barrack, sister Sandy Barrack. Charles Mitchell Barrack will be missed dearly by many, but his memories and stories will live on.
