CATHERINE N SOUSLIN's Obituary
Catherine Nobriga Souslin was born January 8, 1930 on Maui, Hawaii and resided in Hayward, CA for the past 63 years. She peacefully passed away on June 5, 2024, while enjoying the beautiful California sunshine on her favorite chair. She was 94 years old and had many years of excellent health, never taking any medication except an aspirin during her last 4 months of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Souslin (married 60 years), and survived by three daughters: Pam Souslin, Gayle Teixeira, & Karin Souslin. She is also survived by three grandchildren: Andrew Teixeira, Lauren Teixeira Carlile & Kahla Souslin, as well as three great-grandchildren: Riley, Bailey & Lily.
While raising three daughters, Catherine inspired other mothers through her dedication and determination, serving as an inspiration to other working moms, which wasn’t common in her time. She started working at Shaklee Products when it was a small company in Hayward, where she simply walked in and asked if they were hiring. She worked until her retirement as an Office Manager in 1985. She loved golfing at the San Leandro Marina, gardening, enjoyed an occasional horse race, and loved traveling (Europe, Australia, Hong Kong, China, Southeast Asia, and her beloved Hawaii).
Cathy will be laid to rest at the Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd, Hayward, CA.
