Carolyn Sue Rice's Obituary
Carolyn Sue Rice, known affectionately to all as Sue, passed away on July 1st, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love.
Born on November 16, 1941, in Missouri to Alpha and Hilda, Sue's life was a testament to the values of dedication, compassion, and grace.
She poured her heart into everything she did, especially her life’s calling: teaching. For over 30 years, Sue inspired generations of students with her boundless enthusiasm and love for learning. As a middle school World History teacher, she brought the past to life with her engaging storytelling and deep knowledge, sparking curiosity and critical thinking in her classroom. It was more than a place to study—it was a space of care and encouragement, shaped by her passion and the joy she found in each student’s success.
Sue was the ultimate caregiver—a devoted daughter, a loving wife, and the heart of her family. She embraced motherhood with deep affection, raising three children whom she cherished dearly.
She is survived by her children, Mike, Jennifer, and David, who will always remember her legacy of strength, unconditional love, and generosity.
Sue was the best grandmother—attentive, loving, and deeply devoted. She will be greatly missed by her eight grandchildren: Hayden, Dylan, Carl, Brandon, Hailey, Madeline, Mason, and Nicholas, all of whom were blessed by her constant support and gentle presence.
A small and intimate funeral service to celebrate Sue’s life will be held on Saturday, July 19th, 2025, at 11:00 AM, bringing together loved ones to honor the remarkable woman who made a lasting imprint on so many hearts.
Her memory will forever remain a guiding light, a quiet strength, and a reminder of how one life lived with love and purpose can inspire countless others.
