Carolyn passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 19th after a short battle with pneumonia.Carolyn took on the world with a wry smile and a quick, dry wit. Even in her illness, during her last week in this life, she continued to make people laugh and smile. Carolyn grew up in Stoneham, Massachusetts, the eldest of six siblings, and was a 1955 graduate of Stoneham High School. In high school Carolyn had a love of singing and was involved in the high school chorus. She continued her love of music throughout her life; her favorite musical artists being Jim Croce, Three Dog Night, and Tracy Chapman. Her favorite 1980s song was “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go” by the band Wham. Her favorite movie was 1990’s Ghost; she often replied to, “I love you”, with “Ditto”, quoting the movie. Carolyn loved to share her life’s memories, often telling people of the time the, then, Senator John F. Kennedy marched in the local Wakefield, MA parade “Like a normal, everyday person but he really stood out.” and how her birthday, April 4th in 1968 was a “Very sad, sad, day.”, due to the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. Carolyn worked many years in Massachusetts as a key punch operator, one of the first forms of computer programming. She had a love for literature, science, and history. She also loved crocheting, cross stitching and in her later years, she enjoyed working with color with her favorite color being blue.
