Carole Alice Clifford's Obituary
Carole Alice Clifford 10/4/1930 – 5/15/2012 Resident of Union City Carole Alice Clifford passed away peacefully on May 15, 2012, surrounded by her family. She was an only child of Emerson M and Alice J. Evans born in San Francisco. Carole will always be remembered for her infectious laugh and orchestrating family gatherings with a towel on her shoulder. Her love of reading and books was well known. After working for a number of years as a technical librarian, she surrounded herself with books working as a librarian at James Logan High School, the alma mater of several children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, William E Clifford of Union City; children Susan Paton Clifford of Snohomish WA, Amy (John) Conduit of Hayward, Terri (Stan) Salstrom of Ferndale WA, Debi (Dave) Varner of Modesto, Rick (Josie) Clifford of Modesto and Greg (Janet) Clifford of Modesto, 24 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; in-laws Gordon and Lin Clifford of Elmhurst IL, along with numerous friends and extended family. She was predeceased by her daughter Sharon Raven and sons John “Mike” Raven and Bill Clifford. A private celebration will be held at a future date.
