Carol Elizabeth Russell's Obituary
Our beloved mother, Carol Elizabeth Russell 96 of Hayward passed away on November 1, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, William, and her grandson, William Schwarz at age 20. Carol had worked for the Hayward Unified School District for many years serving as secretary and office manager at Ruus Elementary School as well as Eureka and Cherryland, retiring in 1989. She was a long-time Oakland A’s fan, an avid reader, and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Carol is survived by her son, William Russell of Hayward, and her daughter, Karen Schwarz of Modesto, two grandchildren, Matthew Schwarz and Kaitlin Schwarz, both of Modesto, as well as four great-grandchildren, Kali 22, Matthew Jr. 17, Kalia 12, and Avery 7.
Carol’s last few years were spent in Modesto surrounded by her family and grandchildren. Carol’s warmth and kindness towards all will be greatly missed.
Services will be held on November 14, 2023, at 12:00 at Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd, Hayward.
