Carmen Valenzuela, 91, of Hayward California, passed away on January 25, 2021, peacefully in her home surrounded by her children. Carmen was born on November 4, 1929 in Oakland California to Maria & Ygnacio Valdez. Carmen married Alfred J. Valenzuela on September 24, 1949 and moved to Hayward where they resided until Alfred passed away in 1988. Carmen and Alfred owned several small businesses and in 1958 established Val’s Burgers, a family restaurant well known for baby, mama and papa burgers. They retired in 1984 and travelled extensively including cruises to several different areas of the world. Carmen’s favorite past time was joining her friends at the church and Castro Valley’s Kenneth C. Aiken Senior Center to line dance to her favorite songs.
Carmen was preceded in death by her husband Alfred J. Valenzuela, her parents, Maria and Ygnacio Valdez, and stepfather Ray Gonzalez Sr., her siblings Xavier Valdez, and Delia Valdez.
Carmen is survived by her children, Jo Ann Lindorfer, Anna Ferguson and John Valenzuela; son-in laws Kevin Lindorfer and James Ferguson and daughter-in-law Melody Valenzuela; 7 grandchildren, Ryan, Josh, and Kristen Lindorfer, James Michael and Christopher Ferguson, John Paul and Jamie Valenzuela and 4 great grandchildren, Damien Ferguson, Aiden and Aria Lindorfer and Greyson Akin. Carmen is also survived by her siblings, Helen, Kadee, Ray Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mom – we will miss you but know you are in our hearts. Always remember, WE LOVE YOU MORE!
