Carlos G. Balingit Sr.'s Obituary
On May 10th, 2018, Heaven welcomed back the loving soul of Carlos G. Balingit to its eternal life and love with God.Dad does not want us to shed tears for him, but instead remember that he is now free from physical pain, and although abscent in body, he is forever among angels and with us in spirit.Dad loved to work with his hands so he spent most of his free time fixing or building things around his house. His garage is full of tools he collected over decades, and he could rival any professional handyman’s skills. If Heaven needed a handyman, Dad would be the first one to volunteer.A man of few words, Dad expressed his love by helping others. The simple things in life such as watering his son Jose’s lawn, seeing his nephew Noli and his wife Monina on their yearly visit to Alameda, and spoiling his grandchildren made him happy. If he regretted anything, it was not being able to spend more time his sisters, brothers, many newphews and nieces, in-laws and others who met so much to him. His heart would leap with joy whenever family and friends visited or called simply to say hello.Dad was blessed to Maria and Antonio Balingit on December 3, 1934 being the eldest to younger sibling brothers Romigio and Junior, and sisters Rosamista and Efipania. His curiousity and love of nature lead him to study entolomolgy and while applying for a job after graduation, he noticed the pretty young owner of a drug store. After returning to the drug store several times pretending to need medication, he worked up the courage to ask this young lady to accompany him to a local festival. After a blissful courtship, they married. It was said that not only did he get a job, but also got a wife that fateful day. He lived to be 83 years old, which 59 years were spent with his wife Nati. Together they devoted themselves to their children Carlos Jr., Jose, Marina and Angelo. He was ecstatic when he became grandfather to Britney, Christa, Nikki, Christopher, Julian, Milo, Noah, Devin, Brianna, and Catherine and spoiled them with toys and hugs.Dad’s physical presence is sorely missed, but we are consoled knowing that we will eventually be reunited with him again. Dad repeatedly said that his only wish was we all love each other and take care of one another. It is in this spirit we can honor him. He is forever loved.
