94Candido Suazo (USN Retired) Dec 28, 1937 – Apr 18, 2009 Resident of Hayward Candido was called home to our Lord on April 18, 2009; He was a proud patriot serving his country for 30 years in the US Navy. He served on numerous Aircraft Carriers and many Naval vessels. He completed his military service as an Armed Forces Police Officer for the US Naval Support Team, at Treasure Island. In retirement, he performed many acts of charity volunteering at the Hayward Senior Center. A disabled Veteran of the Vietnam War, he rode his “scooter” proudly in many Veterans Day Parades as a Life Member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was often found at the Tennyson road “Jack-in-the-Box” enjoying the hospitality and friendly demeanor of the employees. On Feb 11, 1961, he married the love of his life Stella and shared 48 years of marriage. Candido is survived by his wife and four children. Jeff (Barbara), Margie (Robert), Jeremy (Maria), Jonathan (Lorena). He was cherished by his grandchildren Crystal, Laurie, Brandon, Anthony, Maritza, Jacob, Matthew, and Lisa, and two great-grand children Ashley and Brandy. Candido was also survived by his siblings Levi (Julie) WY, Della CO, Rosanna (Victor) CO. He was preceded in death by his loving parents Gorgonio and Sinforosa Suazo, brothers Silverio, Jose-Eligio, Ruben Suazo and grandchild Jennifer. He was a member of St. Bede’s Catholic Church, and a spiritual inspiration to many who knew him. The family would like to extend their gratitude to all the special friends who have shown their love, comfort, and friendship. Viewing at Chapel of the Chimes, Hayward, on Thurs.
