Bruce John Turner Jr's Obituary
On August 31, 1992, BJ was born in Hayward, CA, to Bruce Turner and Karen Van Zile. He is the younger brother of Angela and was raised in San Leandro, Fremont, and Anderson throughout his early childhood years. He attended grade school at Anderson Heights, graduated from John Muir Middle School, and spent his adolescent years pursuing baseball, soccer, and football while at San Leandro High School.
Growing up with two loving sets of families that raised him, BJ spent many weekends with relatives and friends all around the Bay Area and beyond. Memories of his childhood included camping and boating at various lakes in Northern California with his dad and family, festive and joyful Christmases, traveling on long drives to Southern California, and endless hours swimming in the pool and fishing at the pond near his mother’s house.
As BJ grew into his own, he lived a life full of grit, curiosity, and adventure. He was typically chill and relaxed, as many would describe him, and always went with the flow, while directing his intentions with openness and kind-heartedness. He was drawn to employment opportunities within the food industry, landing his first job at In-N-Out Burger, and spent years working at Benihana and local restaurants near his residence. Food was his love language and a good time with his buddies was centered around enjoying the best eats.
BJ always found solace in nature and spent a lot of his down time going on camping trips with his friends, hiking with his girlfriend, Tiffany, and walking her dog at the creek and at various beaches along the coast. BJ had a big heart and will be missed and remembered by everyone who loved him.
BJ was a loving son, a caring brother, devoted uncle, and a loyal cousin and friend. He was cherished by those near and dear to him and his sudden death has left a huge hole in so many hearts. BJ was preceded in death by his mother, Karen and is survived by his father and step-mother, Bruce and Helen Rodeo-Turner, his sister and her husband, Angela and Victor Diaz, his nephews, Aaron and Angel, and niece, Bella, and his youngest half-brother Kyle, along with numerous family members on his maternal and paternal sides.
