Bruce W. Hundley's Obituary
RememberingBruce Wallace Hundley was born, November 10, 1940 in Philadelphia, PA to Leroy Hundley Sr. and Lucille Sarah James. He graduated from German Town High School in 1957. After several years of life in Pennsylvania, Bruce decided to visit his younger brother, Fred, in San Francisco CA. As Fred puts it, “Bruce came to visit and never left”. He lived a short time with Fred and Essie before venturing out on his own.Bruce worked for the city of Oakland retiring after thirty years of service. He loved being with family and friends and his greatest desire was to retire and spend quality time with his love ones, especially his adoring wife.Later in life Bruce met and fell in love with, Jo Ann. After a yearlong courtship, the two were married and spent their honeymoon cruising the Caribbean islands. This was the first of many vacations including a recent two-week trip to Costa Rica.Although not an advent outdoorsman, Bruce would spend hours marveling at his wife while she demonstrated her fishing skills. Of course it was her slight nudging that finally got Bruce out of his white button down and sharply creased slacks into sweats and sneakers.Bruce love of life was contagious – he loved singing and playing the keyboard and was always willing to entertain. He loved to travel and meet new people and was always willing to lend a hand. Bruce accepted the Lord as his personal savior in 2007 and he now spends eternity with his Lord.Bruce we will miss you dearly and love you always …your family.
