Brianna Rachelle Kalina's Obituary
January 18, 1990 -July 5, 2008 Resident of Hayward Brianna passed away gracefully on Saturday, July 5, 2008 @ 4:00 pm, amongst dear family and friends whom sung in harmony through her journey. Accepting the Lord, she is survived by her Mother – Nancy Kalina, adopted Father & brothers – Edward, Vincent & Tony Gabrielson, her eternal love Marvin Olmedo, Uncle Brian and Auntie Patty, Auntie Debbie and dear friend Patricia Rose. Brianna was born in Fullerton, CA spending a year in Anaheim, CA, Austin, TX and four years in Minneapolis before settling amongst her beloved community in Hayward, CA in 1996. From age 5 Brianna wholeheartedly joined the Girls Scouts making her way as a Daisy-Brownie-Junior-Cadet- Senior until age 17. Through her teens she enjoyed Track, Band & Soccer at while enriching herself with German studies with her beloved teacher and coach Mr. Erker, at Hayward High. Brianna brought a lively spirit to the soccer community of Hayward, where she will be greatly missed and remembered for the strength and perseverance she possessed. Brianna’s cancer diagnosis in March, 2006 challenged her strength; where she battled her Lymphoma and triumphed in graduating from Hayward High, 2008. She adored soccer and her community, actively supporting her school, friends and team mates all four years. Those who knew Brianna were blessed by her love, laughter and enjoyment of life. Her vivacious spirit and courage will stay engraved in our hearts. Family and friends may visit on Friday, July 11 from 4:30 – 8:00 pm at Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, July 12 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 166 West Harder Road, Hayward 94544. This will be followed by a celebration reception being held at the church’s social hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Brianna’s name.
