Billy E. Elliott's Obituary
Billy E. Elliott Jul. 26, 1929 Jan. 14, 2010 Resident of Castro Valley Billy passed away in Eden Hospital on January 14, 2010. He was a loving husband of 54 years to Maria, devoted father of Eugene, Gerald (Judy) and Robert. He was born and raised in Oakland to Myrl and Ruth (Enos) Elliott. He leaves behind his sister Barbara Parkin, sister and brother-in-law Hermine and Louis Schechs of Parker, CO., uncles, Arch C. and Wm Elliott; nephews Bruce Parkin, Chris and Stephan Schechs. He attended Fremont High and graduated from Castlemont High in 1947. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1956 in Munich, Germany and joined the U.S. Army Reserve in 1974 and served with the 481st Trans Co. (HB) until 1991 when he retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 4. In 1956 Bill started working for Santa Fe Railroad as a tugboat engineer on the San Francisco Bay until 1984 and then worked 10 more years for the Red and White Fleet. Bill, a man of nature loved to go hunting, fishing and backpacking. He also loved to go to baseball games with his friends and family. Friends and family are invited to a Memorial Service on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 10 am at the Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park, 32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward CA.
