Bill Reveley's Obituary
William (Bill) Alfred Reveley (January 15, 1917 – October 24, 2016) Resident of Fremont, CaliforniaBill Reveley, 99, died peacefully on October 24, 2016 after a long and healthy life. Born of Mary Gill and Sydney Reveley, Bill is survived by his daughter Patty Duffy (Jim), three grandchildren Chris, John, Megan, two great grandchildren Kiera and Jack and his brother Sydney Reveley. His sister Margaret Reveley predeceased Bill at the young age of 9.Bill was born in Centerville, New Mexico and raised in Fallon, Nevada. He served as Master Sargent in the U.S. Army’s Signal Battalion during WWII and was stationed in the Philippines. We are all thankful and proud of Bill’s service to our country.Following the war, Bill settled in Oakland where he met and married Angie Pello. Angie and Bill were the loving parents of Patty before Angie passed away in 1982. Angie had four children before marrying Bill: Mary, Jim, Ron, and Peggie. All but Ron have predeceased Bill. Bill met and married his beloved Grace Gutierrez in 1991. Grace had three children before marrying Bill: Robert Gutierrez, Darlene Bennett and Lorraine Gutierrez, all of whom have survived Bill. Grace passed away in July of this year.Bill loved technology and worked as an electrical technician. He was capable of repairing anything electrical. He loved his work and he loved helping his family and neighbors who frequently called upon him at all times of the day and night for help with their appliances. He continued working until the age of 90.Bill was blessed with a full life. He was sharp as a tack and loved to work with anything mechanical. When Bill was 12 years old, he built his own version of a Model T. Following retirement, Bill supported his community at Tri-City Volunteers in Fremont repairing appliances where he was excited to share his skill and knowledge with others. One of his favorite “apprentices” and good friends was Woody. Bill also had a passion for golf and he was fortunate to get out to the course weekly with family and friends until he was 95 years old. He had a strong-willed personality and a passion for life that will be missed by us all. We were blessed to have him for almost 100 years. Bill’s family is most thankful for the exceptionally wonderful care he received at the end of his life from Georgia.Friends and family are invited to a celebration of life at Chapel of the Chimes, Hayward California on November 3rd. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any kind acts of charity be made to a non-profit association benefiting our Veterans or any charity of their choice.
